Anecdotal evidence

My current status:
I'm going into hospital for a hip replacement tomorrow. I'm strangely excited. No-one likes surgery, of course, but I'm looking at it as just another adventure. And I do like adventure. More importantly, I've started planning all the things I'm going to do once I'm all healed up - and the list is looking good.

I’m baffled. I can’t figure out a single way in which receiving a marketing email (for that is what it was) from a car hire company in Portuguese could have been inconvenient.

Amusing, sure. Confusing, puzzling, disconcerting, or even annoying. But inconvenient? Nope. Inconvenient is when my car has to go in for a service on the day of a big meeting, or when Woolworths closes early and I need dessert for a party, or when my husband has to be dropped off at the airport when I’m on deadline, or when Avis hires out its last car as I arrive at the Gautrain station in Sandton.

Company communicators, stop it.
